C-SPAN will be offering its Teacher Fellowship Program virtually this summer. We are interested in finding middle and high school educators to work remotely with the C-SPAN Education Team to develop new and innovative ways of incorporating C-SPAN content into classrooms. C-SPAN will select up to 5 fellows. Each fellow will:
-Work remotely with the team from July 5 – July 30 to create new educational resources
-Develop content using C-SPAN programs that will be hosted on the C-SPAN Classroom or StudentCam websites
-Participate in C-SPAN’s Virtual Summer Educators’ Conferences (Dates to be determined.)
-Receive a stipend of $1,000 for their time, work, and participation in the program

Finalists will be notified by May 21, 2021, and will be asked to submit a one-page outline of a project they would like to develop and participate in a Zoom interview with C-SPAN’s Education team. Help Mount Vernon create timely and needed civic learning resources for classrooms nationwide as part of a cohort of five Teacher Fellows this summer. Fellows will work together, with Mount Vernon staff, to design a slate of inclusive resources for multiple grade levels and differentiated learning styles. Successful applicants will demonstrate their achievement in collaborative curriculum development and provide their ideas about activities that integrate George Washington’s biography, leadership, and complex legacies for today’s classroom.
