The theme of this year’s Student Contest from Civics 101 Podcast is “There Ought to Be a Law.” We want K-12 students across the country to record a short, 1-2 minute clip, audio or video (you can just take a video or voice memo on your phone!) and use the following prompts:

  • Tell us your name and where you’re from
  • “There ought to be a law about ____”
  • “This is a problem because ____”
  • And finally, how your law will solve that problem.
  • No idea too small, no idea too big. This can be a proposed rule for your school, a law for your state, we want you to think locally as much as globally. The winning entries will air on our national podcast. Send (or have your teacher send) your file to nick@civics101podcast.org by March 31. Good luck, now go lay down the law!
