Thanks to the great generosity and civically minded ThoughtMatter branding agency, teachers across the country received a packet of redesigned Constitutions for their classrooms this fall. ThoughtMatter, a New York-based branding and design firm, redesigned the Constitution with the goal of making it more modern, accessible and engaging to the public, especially younger people, through the use of color and dynamic images. One thousand copies were donated to the Civics Renewal Network to distribute to teachers who participated in the network’s annual Preamble Challenge on Constitution Day. In an article in the Huffington Post, CEO Tom Jaffe said: “The Constitution rises above partisanship. We’re a design firm, not a political consultancy, but we think the Constitution belongs to everyone. It’s America’s foundation and it’s too important to be left to politicians.” Learn more about the redesign here.
